The open house-style event aims to introduce students to the center’s services in a fun way.
The Academic Success Center is hosting a Smartie Party Jan. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The party will be an open house featuring games, door prizes and free food. Students and faculty alike to stop by and learn more about the ASC’s tutoring services.
“We are aware that the ASC is a bit hidden in the lower level of the Field building and walking in the door for academic assistance can be a bit intimidating,” said Kelly Van Marel, administrative assistant for tutoring services. “We hope the Smartie Party creates a fun and relaxed environment in which students can get to know our staff and the services we provide.”
A Kindle, gift cards and school supplies are a few door prizes being given away at the Smartie Party.
The ASC offers free tutoring for a variety of subjects, testing services, study skills development training and an open writing lab. To find out more about the ASC, stop by its location in Field 117.
